Circular Layers

As a continuation of the spinning top photos, I wanted to try and create a similar effect in different formats. I began by using multicoloured crepe paper in layers on black paper. I like the effect as it is kind of abstract but it didn't have the 3D effect or movement I wanted to convey.

 I tried the same technique on acetate and it was a bit more successful as the natural light shone through creating more layers

I then made a "mobile" to try and create a 3D format and hung it from the window to get some movement. I wasn't happy with the result though as it wasn't gestural like the photos or have enough layers.
